Hollow Knight has just entered the Fortnite universe, and Epic Games found a rather curious way to bring the protagonist of Team Cherry's metroidvania into the game: The Knight doesn't arrive as a traditional skin, but as a Sidekick who can accompany you during your matches.

The collaboration is part of Fortnitemares 2026 and is now available in the Fortnite shop.

THE KNIGHT ACCOMPANIES YOU

The protagonist of Hollow Knight appears as a Sidekick, so he doesn't replace your character's appearance. Instead, he'll follow your player during matches and react to what's happening around him.

Epic explains that Sidekicks can react to the world, although they don't detect enemies or objects to give you a competitive advantage. In addition, The Knight comes with quests that let you unlock extra rewards.

And yes: The Knight costs 1,500 V-Bucks on its own.

THERE'S MORE FROM HALLOWNEST, TOO

The collaboration doesn't stop with the little knight.

The Hollow Knight Bundle includes The Knight, the Hallownest Grub as a back bling, and The Knight's Nail as a pickaxe. The full bundle costs 2,000 V-Bucks, compared to 2,700 V-Bucks for the items purchased separately.

Plus, The Knight has content that can be unlocked through quests, giving you more reasons to use him after purchasing him.

A COLLABORATION THAT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE

The arrival of Hollow Knight during Fortnitemares is pretty interesting because Fortnite is using October to bring together video games and franchises that fit its horror theme perfectly.

But it also shows just how far Epic's universe has come: a character from an indie metroidvania can end up sharing a match with characters from Five Nights at Freddy's, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and other huge franchises.

For now, the collaboration will be available until October 14, 2026, so Hallownest fans only have a few days to get it.
