Nintendo did not expect the return of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to spark so much excitement among players. The company admitted that it underestimated demand for the remake after pre-orders for the steelbook edition sold out quickly at numerous stores.

The situation is not limited to Brazil. Bill van Zyll, Nintendo Latin America's vice president and general manager, confirmed in an interview with Brazilian content creator Coelho that the stock problem is global.

“We underestimated how well it would be received,” the executive explained, also noting that the game is performing especially well in the United States. Nintendo apologized to affected players and acknowledged that the level of interest exceeded its expectations.

Nintendo is also having stock problems with the special Zelda Switch 2

Demand is not limited to the video game. The Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition has also quickly sold out at various stores.

This special version features designs inspired by the popular franchise and has become a highly sought-after item among collectors and fans of the series.

Nintendo confirmed that it is working to restock both the game and the console, though it warned that the process could take time. For now, there is no specific date for when new stock will arrive.

Why is there so much excitement about Zelda: Ocarina of Time?

The original game debuted on Nintendo 64 in 1998 and became one of the most influential titles in history. Its exploration, dungeons, and unforgettable moments, such as traveling across Hyrule on Epona, are still remembered by millions of players.

The remake aims to bring that adventure back for a new generation, with updated graphics and enhancements tailored to Nintendo Switch 2. For longtime fans, it is a chance to return to one of Nintendo's most beloved classics.

The company hopes to resolve the availability issues, but anyone hoping to get the special edition will have to keep an eye out for upcoming restocks.
