If September was already packed, October 2026 is ready to raise the bar even higher. Xbox, Activision, Ubisoft, and Bandai Namco have several major releases lined up for the coming weeks, featuring franchises that have been building anticipation for months.
Gears of War: E-Day — October 6
Xbox kicks off the month with one of its biggest releases: Gears of War: E-Day. The Coalition returns to the series’ origins to tell the story of the events of Emergence Day, with Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago facing the start of the Locust invasion.
Alongside the campaign, it will feature co-op and the new Horde Siege mode. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will also be available on Game Pass from day one.

Ace Combat 8 — October 2
Bandai Namco also has one of its major releases lined up. ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE lands on October 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The new installment uses Unreal Engine 5 and aims to take the franchise’s aerial combat to a much more ambitious visual level.

Rayman Legends Retold — October 1
Ubisoft brings back one of its most beloved franchises with Rayman Legends Retold, a reimagining featuring 3D graphics, additional content, new cutscenes, and local co-op for up to four players. It is scheduled to launch on October 1.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 — October 23
Activision saved one of the biggest releases for the second half of the month. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 arrives on October 23 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Alongside a campaign and multiplayer, it introduces DMZ, an extraction experience that significantly expands this installment’s offering.

Phantom Blade Zero — October 29
And to close out the month, Phantom Blade Zero, S-Game’s action RPG for PS5 and PC, makes its appearance. It combines martial arts, fantasy, and fast-paced combat in a semi-open world.
