The Blood of Dawnwalker will allow you to face the final boss almost from the beginning

One of the most interesting aspects of The Blood of Dawnwalker is that it will not force players to follow a completely linear path.

Rebel Wolves' new RPG will allow players to make decisions almost from the beginning of the adventure, to the point that it will be possible to try to face the final boss shortly after completing the prologue.

However, the developers have already warned that doing so will be absolute madness for most players.

The final boss will be available from the start

After completing the prologue, players will be able to go directly to Brencis' castle, the main antagonist of the adventure, and try to defeat him.

It will not be necessary to previously complete all side quests, acquire certain skills, or follow a specific path to unlock the confrontation.

The possibility exists almost from the beginning of the game.

However, just because the game allows it does not mean it is advisable.

A battle reserved for very skilled players

Rebel Wolves has made it clear that facing Brencis so early will be extremely difficult.

The developers themselves have described achieving it as a feat worthy of legends, as the protagonist will still have few skills and resources available.

The intention is for players to be able to experiment with this freedom, but for most to prefer to spend time developing their character before facing the final enemy.

There is no obligatory path

This possibility is part of The Blood of Dawnwalker's design philosophy.

The game will feature an open narrative structure where different activities do not necessarily function as mandatory steps along a single path.

Players will have to decide how to use each day and night, as the adventure unfolds within a limited period of 30 days and 30 nights.

Some opportunities will appear or disappear depending on decisions made and the time that has passed.

It's even possible to finish the adventure quickly

The freedom goes so far that the developers have confirmed that a player could try to finish the story almost at the beginning.

Of course, doing so would mean giving up a huge amount of content, characters, quests, and events that are part of the full experience.

Furthermore, defeating Brencis at that point will require a deep understanding of the combat system.

Combat will be especially important

The Blood of Dawnwalker combines melee combat with the supernatural abilities of Coen, the protagonist.

His status as a hybrid between human and vampire will be fundamental during battles, although his abilities will change depending on the time of day.

During the day, Coen will be considerably more vulnerable, while at night he will be able to better utilize his vampiric powers.

This means that rushing into the final boss too early will depend not only on the character's level but also on the player's skill.

A system designed to reward experimentation

The decision to allow such early confrontations demonstrates that Rebel Wolves wants to offer a different experience from many traditional RPGs.

Instead of telling the player exactly what they need to do before progressing, the game will allow them to take risks and discover the consequences.

Even a defeat or a seemingly negative decision can change the subsequent development of the adventure instead of simply forcing the player to repeat the same path.

When will The Blood of Dawnwalker be released?

The Blood of Dawnwalker will be released on September 3, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The game is developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio formed by former CD Projekt RED developers who participated in projects such as The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
